An Ohio man named Frederick D. Purvis, who repeatedly said he was going to blow up Denver International Airport was indicted today by a federal grand jury in Cincinnati for making the threats. According to the records shown by cops he sent a message quoting, "I am going to place a bomb in the Denver International Airport on Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at 3 p.m. I will shoot myself in the ladies room at 3:30 p.m. because I do not want to live any longer. If I live, I will kill President Bush. That is not the only threat he made. He threatened to kill an individual at an Ohio radio station and blowup various landmarks in Ohio, including the Cincinnati airport. This man has made bomb threats over the internet. He made the threats between Oct. 16 and Nov. 13, sending messages over the Internet to the media. Obviously there is something wrong with this man because he is making all these threats for no reason. This matters to me because he can hurt people. Even though he hasn’t achieved his goals in bombing the air port he can still be great danger to communities and people. His punishments for all these threats lead him punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000. This should matter to the world because people need to realize that they can’t always be safe. They need to know that this can happen anywhere. I think police need to keep an eye on people who look suspicious because you never know what they can do.

“Man arrested after allegedly smoking pot at Aspen movie.”

In the back of a movie theatre a 19 year old man was caught smoking pot with a group of teens. He will be charged with drug possession, and I think he deserves a worse penalty than a fine of $150; he should be put to jail, with all the other potheads. This matters to me because we can’t have people like this running around and scaring our public, they are a bad influence to our community. Also, we should make it a state effort to find drug dealers. If we destroy the sources then there will be no chaos. Once we exterminate these pests our community will be safe form further drug use. This matters to the young man becauase it’s good that the teen confessed to having possession of the marijuana, or else he would have faced worse consequences. Drugs mess up a lot of people and I think they should get a second chance, and re-direct their lives.

Arvada man charged in bow-and-arrow killing of dog

A man accused of killing his girlfriend's small dog with a bow and arrows was charged Wednesday with aggravated animal cruelty. Zackary Scott Ruszka, 20, appeared in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday, where he was advised of the cruelty charge. The man making the report was Alex Duran, 21. When he returned, he noticed blood in the garage and saw Blaze, a small black terrier, dead with two or three arrows in its body. He is fined 5,000 dollars. What matter to Zackary is to let off easy and not to be arrested. What matters to me is that he should be put in jail because he obviously has a temper and he can not only kill animals but a person. We need to be aware of kids with temper because they can cause harm to our public. I’m glad that he is fined but he should have had a rougher sentence. This could also be the parent’s fault because they probably don’t spend time with him or he isn’t disciplined enough. This should matter to the world because teenagers need to know when it’s all fun and games and stop when things are serious because it can lead to horrible crimes. I also think that animal cruelty is a sad thing. We need to save those helpless animals and give them a home!

My PLN is about a father and a son robbing a women on a JC Penny parking lot at Colorado Springs. The two men grabbed her purse and one of them punched her to the ground. Then they jumped into their car and drove off. John Lockett Sr., 43, and John Lockett Jr., 19 were arrested for robbing and now police are investigating if they previously robbed any other places to. What matters to the police in this article is to capture other robbers because they are causing too much chaos and are making malls unsafe for people to shop. Also they are glad they found the men quickly because they would have ran away from the cops. What matters to me and the world is to arrest people who steal especial on Black Friday since it’s the biggest shopping day of the year. Luckily the two men in the article are arrested before Black Friday or they would have committed another crime similar to this one.

My PLN is about how much snow we got Friday. We only got 1 or 2 inches of snow. In the mountains like Loveland they got 13 inches witch is good for snowboarders and skiers. We are not getting a lot of snow like previous winters. It should be snowing a lot by now but we have been having sunny days and nice breezes. This matters to me because I like how there isn’t a lot of snow because I don’t really like the snow and I hate driving when it’s snowing its really dangerous. My parent’s car always seems to slide across the road due to the black ice. This matters to the people in Colorado because some of them want it to snow because they probably want to go snowboarding or skiing and you need a lot of snow or the parks won’t open. Also, some people were born in Colorado and winter is nothing without snow to them. This matters to people who hate the snow. There are some people who are love this weather because they can do summer stuff like gardening, biking or walking. Also some people are not used to the snow because there are from places where it doesn’t snow like me. I was born in California and I’m still not used to the snow after 5 years living I here. I think we will be getting more snow later in December.

My PLN is an article that says Obama says he’ll mix change, experience. At first I didn’t understand what it meant then after I read it means that Obama is going to make some change to the white house. He also says that change doesn’t come from Washington but that it comes to Washington. People are not sure about this change because Obama is working with the Clinton administration. This matters to Obama because he really wants people to realize that change is coming but he needs help from us. This matters to me because I think he made a good choice that he chose Hillary Clinton to be secretary because he is a strong and brilliant women who has tons of experience. This also matters to me because Obama is always talking about change but is he actually going to do it? He is talking like he is still campaigning but I don’t see the visual yet. Hopefully he will do as he said. This should matter to the world because people in America need to know what is going on and know what our new president is going to do to make our country a better place to be in. people also are wondering if he is going to make change or if he is just saying that for people's amusement.

My PLN is about a 40 year old man name John R. Lucero who sexually assaulted woman while she was sleeping in her apartment. Police say the women’s apartment was open and that he entered that way. What matters to the women in this article is to put the guy in jail because he did something that she would never forget. Another thing that matters to her is that this shouldn’t happen again and that means he should get arrested. Luckily the man was arrested due to sexually assault. This matters to me because I think its wrong for anyone to sexually assault someone. I think our police should make an effort to capture anyone who raped anyone. This matters to the world because people want this crime to stop because it is not safe for our community. Rapist are running around and scaring our public. We all need to stop them from hurting anyone else. They need to be sent to jail because they shouldn’t show there faces to us. I also think they can do worse crime like murder and we cant risk anything like that.

My PLN is about a guy who's been stealing expensive wine, one which was worth $3,000, and selling it on the internet. Police are investigating if he had previously stolen wine. Obviously, what matters to this guy is getting the wine to make money. Another thing that matters to him is money because he is getting a fortune from selling whine. What matters to the world is the valuable wine that costs a fortune and arresting the guy who committed this crime. People are furious that he is doing a selfish crime and that he should have to face the conciseness. This article matters to me because I think valuable wine shouldn't be stolen and when I'm older I might have a chance to buy this expensive wine but if this man isn't arrested then I won't. Also, a person who commits a crime should be punished and not just get away with it because that would be injustices. I think they should bring back the death penalty in every state because people who commit crimes don't have the right to live. He should at least pay back the people he stole the whine from because that is a large amount of money. People who do these horrible things need to stop. Its bad for the public to live with evil criminals.

My PLN is about a man name David Kelley who sexually assaulted a student at Hills middle school. He was a 37 year old consular at Hill Middle School. He was pressed charges and police are investigated if he has done this to more students or kids. What matters right now to David Kelley is not to be sent to jail because he will probably be sent to jail. This should matter to the world because people need to realize that this is happening everywhere and adults need to be aware on who they hire because they can be dangerous to anyone. People should try and do everything to prevent this from happening. For example, police should look in teacher’s records and make notice if there is something suspicious because you never know who to trust. I also think kids should be very carful and not be alone with a teacher because who knows what can happen. Students should not be on the look out to see who is dangerous to our community. Also police need to arrest people who are hurting kids in the schools. This matters to me because I’m always careful on who I trust because you never know who will actually hurt you. I'm always aware and keep my eyes open to be safe from anything.

This article is about California saying no to gay marriage. One gay couple was really disappointed that people from California would be against it. I would think that California would allow gay marriage but I guess not. I found this surprising and very disappointing. This article matters to me because I really don’t care if gay’s lesbians get married because it’s not like there hurting anyone if they did. I think it should be allowed anywhere in the US because it’s not a crime to marry the same sex. If they are not hurting us then we should allow it! This should matter to the world because people need to realize that nobody is the same some want to marry the same sex and it should be allowed. People need to mine there own business and leave the gays alone. They should be free to marry. I know that some religions are against it and people think it’s a sin to marry the same sex but if that is the case then the people who are against it should leave the issue alone and pretend that it’s not happening.

This article matters to me because I think some people need to stop fighting and just handle a situation more calmly because it can lead to jail or even a death. The world today is filled with violence and it needs to stop because it will just get worse if we fight all the time. People need to stop fighting and start compromising with each other because its safer and a smarter way instead of hurting people.

This article was sad because it was about a man saving two kids from a car crash but couldn’t save their mother. I thought the trucker who saved the kids is a hero for risking his life to save the kid’s life. If I was in his place I don’t know what I will do. That’s why this article matters to me because I need to be more grateful of my parents. I would be devastated if I lost my parents in a car wreak. This should matter to the world because some people need to know there are good people out there doing good deeds. Also people should put other people in front of them like what the trucker did in this article. I think this story reflects to Luck skywalker if he was a hero or not because the guy and Luck are both heroes because they both saved people's lives.

The article is about a couple who were notice something in there food order. It was marijuana. The person who did this was a cashier at Del taco. The cashier was a guy he eventually got fired when the couple notified the cops that they had pot. I think what matters to the cashier is keeping his job and not getting charge with drug possession. What matters to the couple is having the guy fired and getting a punishment that he deserves. This article matters to me because I would never do anything that dumb. Also I wouldn’t ruin my life because of drugs. Drugs are making community scary and dangerous. We should make it a state effort to find and destroy drug dealers. I thought that the You Tube video on Machine’s are Using us was interesting because it shows how much technology is helping people around the world. Also the video is trying to show people what the internet, computers and other electronics can do so easily. Another thing is, its saying how typing is so much faster than just writing on paper because you don’t make as much mistakes on computers. This video matters to me because I can see how much I use technology. For example I use I pods, computers; especially for school work and television.It’s making our everyday lives a lot easier because it’s faster, like typing instead of writing, research on the internet instead of scanning through books and entertainment. This matters to the world because people need to see how much technology has change drastically over the years and how much is still going to change today.

Friends: The picture of me and my friends in my collage was at a bathroom at a movie theater. It shows us just having a good time.My friends and I always know what to do when its a boring day.We don't have to spend any money to hang out and have a good time.we usually have movie nights or just go to someones house and just talk or watch t.v.They always make me laugh even when I don't want to. They were the ones who made school a lot more fun.Its sad that our group is separated since most of my friends are going to Littleton high school.My friends and I are always up to something crazy and outgoing.Our group is so random because we have different personalities and don't really have anything in common.

Family: I don't have a picture of my real family so I added a picture of the Simpson's. My family is small.We don't have a lot of aunts,uncles or cousins. I hardly ever see them because most of my family lives in Panama or Guatemala. My parents matter because they support me, no matter what I do. My two older sisters matter to me as well because they always give me great advice and help me with school work even though they live in California.

Pets!: My pets mean the wold to me. I have a Husky, a wiener dog and a bird. My pets always give me company when I'm alone. Now, I'm spending so much time with them since my sisters moved.My husky's name is Cherokee,my wiener dog's name is Chiquita (like Chiquita banana) and my bird's name is Simmon my friend Madeleine gave me Simmon.

Electronics: My computer matters to me a lot. It helps me with school work,I usually find information I need.Without my computer I don't think I will be able to survive school.My ipod is important because Sometimes when I'm bored I like to lay on my bed and listen to music for a while.I also love almost all types of music especially 80's music!For some reason music always helps me fall asleep. Also my cell phone is important I can always reach someone when I need to.

Background: I'm half Salvadorian and half Guatemalan. My mom is from Guatemala and my dad is from El Salvador from Central America.That's why I have the Guatemalan and Salvadorian flag in my collage.Most of my family lives in Panama.I'm proud of my Hispanic background!
